Disability Sport Yorkshire

Disability Sport Yorkshire is the primary regional organization dedicated to improving access to sports and physical activity for disabled children and adults across Yorkshire and The Humber. Its central purpose has remained tackling the inequality disabled people face in accessing sport and physical activity.

Today, DSY works across Yorkshire and the Humber, creating opportunities for disabled people to:

• Be physically active
• Participate in sport
• Socialise and build connections
• Improve health and wellbeing
• Develop confidence and independence
• Develop sporting talent
• Become involved in sport as volunteers, leaders and coaches
• Access inclusive opportunities through schools and community organisations

The organisation’s current stated purpose is to improve the health, wellbeing and quality of life of disabled people in Yorkshire and the Humber, while supporting dignity, self-worth and social contribution.
