Reflecting on our West Yorkshire Networking Meeting: Guide Dogs, DEX, and Digital Success!

It was wonderful to see such a brilliant turnout for our most recent WYCANN Network meeting at Guide Dogs Leeds. Whether you joined us in person or logged on virtually, thank you for making the session so vibrant and productive.

We are particularly thrilled to report that our “hybrid” approach worked flawlessly this time—it was great to have our online community integrated so seamlessly with the room!

Insightful Presentations

We were privileged to host two fantastic guest speakers who shared invaluable insights into the support available for children and young people with additional needs:

  • Guide Dogs: A huge thank you to Guide Dogs for presenting on the incredible work Guide Dogs does. From habilitation to family support, their impact is truly life-changing.
  • DEX: Louise Thomas provided a deeply informative session on the work DEX does to support deaf children and young people, ensuring they have the tools and community they need to thrive.

Connecting the Dots

The 30-minute networking slot was buzzing with conversation. It is always a highlight to see different charities and organisations within the network sharing resources, ideas, and support. These connections are exactly what the CANN Network is all about.

Save the Date!

We are already looking forward to our next gatherings. Please pop these dates in your diary for the remainder of the year:

  • Wednesday, 1st July 2026
  • Wednesday, 2nd December 2026

Thank you again to everyone who attended and contributed to the energy of the day. We look forward to seeing you all in July!
