The campaign to “Save Our Children’s Rights” focuses on protecting the legal rights of children with SEND from potential government reforms that threaten their access to essential support and education.
The following groups are behind the campaign: Special Needs Jungle, IPSEA, SOS!SEN, SEND National Crisis, SEND Rights Alliance and Learning Disability Today.
These reforms may include restricting access to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), with worrying indications that rights could be weakened or removed in an effort to cut costs. If implemented, these reforms could leave some children and young people without a legally enforceable right to an accessible education that properly meets their needs.
Save our Children’s Rights demand that any such plans are halted, and all education reforms work in the interests of children and families, particularly those who are most vulnerable.
